Chrome and Edge patched a very serious zero-day flaw actively being exploited by hackers. Apple pushed out emergency updates for iPhones, iPads and Macs to fix two security vulnerabilities. We remain committed to helping our readers to source and find the best products and will offer multiple alternatives in the categories affected. Some Mac antivirus programs also come with useful extra features such as password managers, system optimizers or VPN services.Įditor's note: Due to the invasion of Ukraine, Future has chosen to stop doing affiliate-link business with Russian companies, including Kaspersky, for the time being. Many Mac antivirus programs also check for Windows malware, which can use Macs as hidden bases from which to infect PCs on the same local network. The best Mac antivirus programs do a better job, quickly spotting brand-new malware and double-checking dodgy files "signed" with an Apple developer ID. Unfortunately, Apple's built-in antivirus protections, Gatekeeper and XProtect, don't always work so well because they use out-of-date methods of stopping infections. Mac malware has increased in the past few years, and today's Macs are also plagued by adware, scareware and other unwanted although not entirely malicious programs. Macs do get infected by malware, as even Apple itself now admits.

Kenshi is not the worst main character, and his purely reactionary disposition could be justified in part because he’s a stranger in a strange land, but he has no real arc and aside from one instance of doing something smart gives no indication of growth. Unfortunately, the mind behind Tenchi Muyo, Masaki Kajishima, tends to create lousy main characters who may or may not be stand ins or some exploration of his personal psychosis (Ever wondered why his main characters often look alike?). That’s just irksome, like new Dante’s hair turning white or a cutscene with a wig landing on his head only to fuel the rage of Devil May Cry fans. No, naming the main character Kenshi, so the name sounds a lot like Tenchi, is not good enough. Yet, there is a bit of frustration as the series took its sweet time establishing some necessary links with the main series to prove it’s not just an original property trying to piggyback name recognition. However, it does make good by being set on a planet called Geminar, which has some advanced tech relative to Earth but is enough of a backwater to be a clean break as a spinoff. The title itself feels a bit misleading because the actual war doesn’t get started until about halfway through the series. Thus we have, Tenchi Muyo: War on Geminar. Heading into virgin territory with a new part of the universe which would be able to do its own thing without being bogged down by the stupid parts of the narrative appears to be the only viable option. Nevermind the clusterfornication which is the third OAV in terms of squandering potential and not leaving many options in moving forward other than a spin off. Admittedly, Tenchi Muyo still has its merits, but they are not enough to justify the huge piles of nonsense which the audience is expected to shoulder. Upon seeing it again, I’m starting to think that Tenchi Muyo came to the United States at a time when an anime could coast entirely on the premise and newness for Western audiences. After branding Tenchi Muyo’s third OAV as the fifth worst anime I ever saw, decided to rewatch the original series. I don’t care whether you like him or disagree with him or not, you have to respect how meticulous he is when it comes to music and expressing himself. “Cause baby don’t want to be lonely.” Harry responds to these lyrics in “To Be So Lonely” by saying “Don’t call me baby again, it’s hard for me to go home and be so lonely.” I don’t know why Harry didn’t just put this lyrical response directly into “She” (like he did with “take me back to the light” in “Golden”) but he did in fact respond identically to a lyric in “sHe” with “To Be So Lonely.” We were SUPPOSED to draw those connections. From “Falling” to “To Be So Lonely” to “She”. Notice above how “She” falls directly behind “To Be So Lonely” on the infamous track-list? That was all PURPOSEFULLY DONE. I also think the lyrics and the title are a direct response to Zayn’s “sHe” from 2016, which we know is one of two songs whose track titles Harry copied identically for Fine Line. *cough, cough* A track-list that held the power to bring two long-lost lovers back in touch within hours of its November 19th release back in 2019. It also falls directly behind “Falling” on the track-list. It is also my belief that it expounds on a narrative found first in “Falling,” seeing as how the lyrics seem to be a continuation of the opening lyrics about Harry fooling around or sleeping with someone else, losing his battle with loneliness and jealousy while on the road. I hold TBSL in very high esteem and I believe the sentiment behind the lyrics packs a powerful punch. That is “Adore You” and “To Be So Lonely”. There are two songs on Fine Line that I scream-sing every time without fail. It’s small (3.9x 2.2x 0.4 inches) and attractive, with its shiny ridged surface and choice of five snazzy colors (blue, gold, gray, red, and silver). The WD My Passport SSD with USB 3.2 doesn’t look like its travel-enabling namesake, the My Passport Go, but it’s all ready to go places. But there’s no better choice if you want the bleeding edge and are willing to pay for it. You can save money on other drives that will still be darn fast, so the X5 won’t be worth it for most people. If you don’t have Thunderbolt 3 (which uses the same ports as USB-C), you won't see all it can do.Īnd, yikes, is this drive expensive, starting at $200 for 500GB and going up to $600 for the 2TB configuration. The catches? The Samsung X5’s performance was inconsistent, veering between mind-blowing and merely above average (and it did not top every test). It’s larger and heavier than a typical external SSD, but sportscar stylish, with a glossy exterior, sloping lines, and a fiery-red undercarriage. It’s rated for stratospheric speeds (2,800 MBps read, 2,300 MBps write), and it delivered on them in our tests. If your computer has a Thunderbolt 3 port and if money is (more or less) no object, the Samsung X5 Thunderbolt 3 Portable SSD is the best external hard drive for you. Requires Thunderbolt 3 for best performance The newer version costs twice as much, but if super-fast reads are your game, then go for it. Since we tested the Extreme Pro Portable SSD, SanDisk has released a second version that integrates USB 3.2 to get speeds of up to 2,000Mbps but looks exactly the same as its predecessor. The drive is a shade expensive, and the integrated carrying loop is too big to easily fit on a standard keychain. Otherwise, this is an excellent storage device that's ideal for heavy everyday use. The SanDisk Secure Access application applies general encryption, too. Ok, how about speed? The USB 3.1 version of the Extreme Pro Portable SSD is rated for sequential reads of 1,050MBps, and in our own performance tests, it routinely came out at or near the top of the rankings. Suave looks? Its rounded corners, black-and-red coloration, delicately pockmarked front and soft-touch back give it an appearance and feel that are both thoroughly modern and refreshingly classic. No matter what you want from the best external hard drive, the SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD delivers it.Ĭonvenient design? It’s small and light enough to fit in your hand but not get lost in your pocket or bag. It remains to be seen whether this affordable current-generation unit will go down as one of the best graphics cards for gaming, though, for you PC gamers on a budget, it could very well be the ideal opportunity to jump in. The coveted RTX 30 series line is due to receive a new member among its ranks with the RTX 3050 desktop GPU at the end of January. If you're after the cream of the crop when it comes to these key components, then we recommend something that's able to achieve both 1440p and 4K amicably with a minimum of 8GB VRAM as standard, which isn't as expensive as it once was, though the world of budget video cards is changing now, too. However, value for money is just as important, especially at a time where the most in-demand GPUs are suffering from inflated prices across the board with no signs of slowing down.
